“The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of starstuff.” Wrote the famous Carl Sagan in his book Cosmos in 1980.
Since then, technology has been able to find out a bit more about our relationship with the Universe. Recently it was observed that Neutron Stars - which are the remnants of massive stars after going supernova - have a geometry strangely similar to us.
It looks like the crust of a Neutron Star has the same molecular “shape” as our cellular membranes. It gets a bit complicated but you can read more here
When you go down the Quantum hole, you start seeing how things can be connected to each other and one best story there out there is the Quantum Entanglement.
I was so shocked the day I read this for the first time that I needed a few drinks to calm me down. I didn’t know if I was upset or happy to learn about this but it really did change my perspective of life in general – and I’m not exaggerating.
Let’s say that one day you get bored and decide to split an electron in 2 and place them at the opposite side of the universe – yeah science!!!
If you measure one and find it rotating clockwise you will automatically measure that its other half, or entangled pair as the scientists call it, is rotating counterclockwise.
Now I can hear you scream: “That’s not possible!!” and you are probably already checking on Google if I’m talking bollocks because you know that nothing is traveling faster than the speed of light so how could this information travel to the other side of the universe instantly – the only valid solution is that they are still, somehow, connected.
Since everything was created out of the same “marble”, at the moment of the Big Bang, that means that everything is still, somehow, connected – #mindblown
As Dr. Quantum said in his awesome video, "what if space is just a construct that gives the illusion that there is separate objects”?
I will let you be the judge of that!
