Abstract

We all love to read books on theoretical physics and most of us know about the theory that has been widely accepted.The great scientist Albert Einstein , who's name is present on every single science loving kid's lips had proposed his general theory of relativity, which swiftly gained enormous appreciation.Many honored it as the most proficient theory.'Relativity', being one of the most wonderful theoretical physics books provides us an insight into the experiment conducted by Professor Schief and Nasa, in order to verify the great scientist's theory. 

 

 

Gravity Probe B's experiment took 47 years in the making, helped spawn over a 100 Phd theieses, and required the invention of about 13 brand new technologies, including a 'drag free satellite'.The four gyroscopes in GP-B are the most perfect spheres that humans ever made.If the gyroscope's weren't on fleek, their spin axises would wobble in space, even without the effects of relativity.

 

 

The plan was to put a spinning gyroscope to orbit around the Earth.With the spin axises pointed towards some distant star as a fixed reference point.Everyone was excited about the result naturally, as a lot of hard work and time had been put in.The result?

 

 

The precisely calliberated satellite caused the axis of gyroscopes inside to drift very slightly with time, a result that coincided exactly with Einstein's predictions and calculations.The experiment prove the existence of Gravitational waves as well as Gravitational redshifts.It shook it's hands with the theory of relativity.Something that no other proposed theory did.
